HTC just released a rap video (well, it’s already garnered over 50,000 views on YouTube) that at once pokes fun at battle rap culture and the Samsung Galaxy S5.
While it does neither particularly well — it features PM Dawn’s Doc G and HTC’s resident comedian, David Bruce — it does lighten the company’s usually-serious mood a little bit.
Some people saw it as HTC losing its chamfered edges in a petty battle for smartphone notoriety, but I think HTC knows where it stands in that space; it is a very, very small fish in a large pond, and any publicity is good publicity.
With the company’s latest (two?) smartphones on the horizon, this video is just beating the drum.
