Last Friday, HTC said the Android 5.0 update would be rolling out to its One M8 Google Play Edition early this week. In case the week has made you weary and you haven’t noticed, it’s already Friday. And there’s no update.
This fact is not lost on HTC One M8 GPE users. They’ve taken to Twitter to ask about the update and HTC’s VP of product management has been breaking the news that the update is delayed. Apparently, the software was submitted on Monday but the Google has required one more software spin.
“Yes, we submitted the SW on Monday and were informed today we need to re-spin SW. Appreciate your patience,” Mo Versi tweeted at one user.
This request for a re-spin from Google supposedly only came in yesterday. Versi says HTC is working to get things out as quickly as possible but he goes on to tell users that it definitely won’t be sending the update out tomorrow.
