Objectives updated, Commander. 2K games, makers of the wonderful XCOM strategy series, has ported the XCOM: Enemy Within expansion to iOS and Android. Really an expansion in name alone, XCOM: Enemy Within is a reimagining of the XCOM: Enemy Unknown original, adding mechanized and genetically modified soldiers to help you combat Earth’s alien infestation. XCOM: Enemy Within also modify’s the original game’s story, adding new enemies to fight, as well as new missions and upgrades.
Released on iOS and Android as a standalone title (meaning you don’t need Enemy Unknown to play), XCOM: Enemy Within is available today for $12.99 on the App Store (and strangely $14.70 on the Google Play Store). The price may seem hefty when compared to most mobile games, but 2K has squeezed in the full console/PC experience onto mobile, and redesigned the UI to take advantage of a touch-screen interface.
Note: make sure to check carefully if your mobile device has the minimum requirements to run XCOM: Enemy Within before purchasing.
