Yahoo has brought its popular News Digest application to the iPad. The company unveiled the companion product today in collaboration with its new global anchor, Katie Couric, who will be premiering a weekly video segment on the app every Sunday.
The app is less about simplicity than its iOS or Android counterparts, adding a series of topics like Technology, Politics and Sports, though the feature will be limited to U.S. users for a little while.
The interface is spacious and very readable, taking advantage of the iPad’s extra real estate. And because iPad users tend to pick up their tablets at different times of day, the alert times for morning and evening digests can be customized to between 6 and 10am, and 5 and 9pm, respectively.
