A year ago, Desjardins announced a partnership with EnStream, the mobile commerce company co-owned by Rogers, Bell and Telus, that would bring a mobile payment option to customers. Today, Desjardins rolled out the ability to purchase small ticket items via your smartphone.
The Desjardins Mobile Payment app is available in the Google Play Store and BlackBerry World, but the current list of compatible devices is relatively limited. Right now, it includes the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Note III, HTC One (M7), and BlackBerry Bold 9900. However, Desjardins says support for more devices will be added in the coming months.
To use this new payment app, customers must have a Desjardins Visa credit or prepaid card, and an NFC-enabled SIM card form Bell, Rogers or Virgin. TELUS and other carriers “will soon be added.”
