Google has announced the public availability of its Android Wear SDK to developers, allowing users to create value-added experiences and brand new apps for Wear smartwatch users.
The company said that almost all of the APIs embedded in full Android will be available for smartwatch users.
Android Wear engineer, David Singleton, said that apps will be installed automatically to your Android Wear smartwatch if the accompanying Android app supports it. In other words, there’s no separate app store for Android Wear.
He said that all Android Wear smartwatches will be water resistant, making it easy to use in situations when it’s not feasible to use take out a smartphone.
