Nike brings Nike+ FuelBand support to Android

After denying that it would pursue such a move, Nike has brought Nike+ FuelBand support to Android.

The app makes it possible for FuelBand SE users to connect to a select number of devices — at the moment, Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, S3, Nexus 5, HTC One and Moto X — and view step tracking and NikeFuel goals over the course of a day.

With Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, the FuelBand for Android updates wirelessly in the background and sends notifications of progress and encouragement.

While it took a long, long while, Nike appears to be warming to the idea of Android as a platform, beginning with a set number of popular flagship devices before rolling out support across the ecosystem. I’m sure FuelBand users will be happy to have it.
