Twitter hasn’t always taken advantage of Android’s many platform nuances — until last year it still supported the legacy hardware menu button from Gingerbread — but a small change recently added to the app should appease a small group of enthusiasts.
The company has added Daydream support to the app, a feature added to Android in 4.2 Jelly Bean. Daydream allows for a lean back experience, similar to a screen saver, showing photos or featured content on the screen when docked or plugged in. Twitter takes a user’s profile and cycles through a few Tweets with attached images, allaying the text in front and centre of the translucent photo.
It’s not a widely-used feature, but Daydream can be accessed on Android 4.2+ device by heading to Settings/Display. The activation method is customizable, so users can set it to start only when docked rather every time the phone is charging.
