Sony has been pushing through software updates to their devices recently and today they’ve started the next batch. A company blog states, “The next Sony software rollout for Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z officially starts right about now*…”
Unfortunately, the usual asterisk is present and shows that “timing & availability may vary by market & carrier.” We’ve reached out to Sony Canada for an estimate of when Canadian carriers will release this update and will keep you updated.
Sony also says they’ll be bringing on new features with this update, specifically a “unique custom interface experience,” that has downloadable UI packs from Sony Select, dubbed Xperia Themes. In addition, Sony will also bring a number of improvements to the Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, TrackID and Small apps, plus all the above devices will receive the Smart Social Camera app that originally came on the Z1.
