Need a rugged device that can handle the harsh Canadian winters and hot summers, perhaps even the occasional accidental drop? Bell, as previously reported, will launch the Push-to-talk (PTT) capable Sonim XP5560 BOLT 2 IS on July 17th. The IS stands for ‘Intrinsically Safe’ as it’s been certified by the the United States military and the Canadian Standards Association.
The BOLT 2 IS will retail for a whopping $1,069. According to the internal doc we received it states that “Due to high cost and long production lead time for this highly-specialized device, it is available by special order only.” BOLT 2 IS is waterproof and dust proof, comes with a 2.0 inch display and a 1950 mAh battery.
