CES 2013 is fast approaching and we’ll bring you coverage from a Canadian perspective. This year I think there’ll be less mobile phone coverage, still tablets, but some manufacturers will wait to unveil their flagship handsets until Mobile World Congress in February, or simply hold stand alone events like RIM on January 30th, or Samsung for the Galaxy S IV and Note III.
However, LG will be showing off a few new Android handsets this year. No word yet what the brand names will be, probably continue down the Optimus path. Details are sparse, but there will be a 4.7-inch smartphone that reportedly has an edge-to-edge display with a 1mm bezel – perhaps it might look like the Optimus G or the Nexus 4. In addition, LG is entering the phablet space with a 5.5-inch device that has a full HD display and a 403ppi. Finally, LG will market a 7-inch device (1920×1200 resolution and 324ppi) and take on other tablets such as the iPad mini and the Nexus 7.
We’ll bring you hands-on of each of these when they are officially announced.
