Tweedle is a new Twitter app developed by XDA-Developer HandlerExploit, and it emphasizes the “better, cleaner, and faster” mentality. Many Twitter clients for Android either don’t follow the new design guidelines, or are just too slow to be reliable. The official client, while it brings push notifications, is a bit simple for the average power user, so clients like Plume and Boid are growing in popularity as a result.
Tweedle is still in its early stages and doesn’t have all the features of a more mature client, but the basics are there: a Holo-inspired interface, smooth scrolling, background notifications, and a completely customizable colour scheme makes for an excellent overall experience.
It’s missing the ability to retweet with comment, and options like a widget and multiple accounts are coming soon. If you want to try something new, head on over to Google Play for the full scoop. The app is compatible with Android 2.1+.
