7Digital music store brings its 18 million tracks to Windows Phone

7Digital just launched version 2.0 of its Android app a few weeks ago, and now they are ready to take on a whole new platform with a Windows Phone app. Styled in Metro and brimming with 18 million songs that can be purchased, previewed and synced to multiple devices, the app is as full-featured as they come. For Canadians, 7Digital is the only real competitor to iTunes, and its prices are often below the giant, and there are often discounted albums and tracks available.

Recently the platform expanded to allow for what they call a “locker” service, meaning once you purchase an album it is made available, at any time and on any compatible platform, indefinitely. This is in contrast to the old policy which forced a maximum of three downloads per album.

“The new 7digital Windows Phone application adds to our philosophy of being a truly platform agnostic digital music service. With the addition of the Windows Phone app, we enable music fans to purchase music and access their entire music collection on all their devices, anytime, anywhere,” says  Ben Drury, CEO. For Windows Phone users with limited access to third-party music content, the addition of the app will be more than welcome.
