Tumblr for Android gets a nice overhaul with version 3.0, supports Radar

Tumblr has almost become a cliche, accounting for many of the memes on the internet, but more than anything it is the simplest publishing platform for users to post one-off pictures, short snippets of text, and music files.

The Android app has never been bad per se, especially since the last update, but with version 3.0 Tumblr has created a beautiful, functional app for the growing mobile OS. The overhauled interface is more than just pretty pictures, though: you can now get notifications for multiple blogs, and the photo browser is much better. The whole app has been given a speed boost, too, loading blogs in half the time of the previous version.

This one also includes Tumblr Radar, an awesome way to discover what’s new and trending on the platform.

It’s one of the nicest-looking apps on Android, and one of the best examples of what can be done if you stick the guidelines while adding a little spice.

Get it in Google Play.
