Rogers will be releasing the Nokia Lumia 900 LTE “early April”. They recently opened up pre-orders and it was revealed that the 3-year contract price will be $99.99. This is the same price that AT&T in the States will be launching the Lumia 900 for… but of course down south it’s on a 2-year term.
As for the availability, AT&T has pegged this in for an April 8th launch – that’s next Sunday. Up here in Canada carriers always released new handsets during Monday to Friday, never on a weekend. Reading over the fine print in the Rogers Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight giveaway shows the “Contest Closing Date” is on Tuesday, April 10th, so we could speculate that this is the launch date. It also helps that Rogers usually launches devices on Tuesdays.
Finally, the no-contract price that AT&T has put this Windows Phone 7.5 Mango device at $449.99 outright. An absolutely low price for this LTE device. Rogers might come in this price – the contest rules states “One (1) limited edition Nokia Lumia 900 Dark Knight smartphone. An approximate value of $450 CDN”. Rogers also came in low when they released the Nokia Lumia 710 at $254.99 no-term.
$450 for the Lumia 900 is a steal and will certainly help the adoption of LTE in Canada. All speculation until until something official arrives. Would you go for it?
