TELUS says the Nokia Lumia 800 is “Coming March 2nd”

  • Jesse

*Crossing fingers that it’s in the $300-$400 range*

Gah, I’m excited. Can’t wait to eventually ditch my HD7 for this. The Cyan version is by far the best looking phone I’ve ever seen. Can’t go wrong with Nokia’s build, call, and camera quality either.

Definitely going to check it out next week.

    • Bob

Honestly I would love for it to be in that price range as well… but it mostly likely will be $499, maybe $449.

    • SAM

      GO SAMMIE!!!

    • SAM

Why you don’t buy the Galaxy Nexus or S2

    • bob

anything over $300 if a rip-off for this phone given the specs.

    • aka

If you look at the current pricing for new product releases, you’ll realize that the price is going to be between $549.99 to $599.99. I would be surprised if they sell this for more than $599.99. My best guess is $549.99 retail when it’s released. They are not going to undercut LG Optimus 7 currently selling for $499.99.

  • Dalex

Cmon make it be cheap off contract and make Wp7 somewhat relevant… I like competition for android. Oh and bring the 900 soon too!.

  • Tharan

    Rogers…the 900…when?!

  • T1MB1T

Garbage if it is not on wind!!! When are you people gong to realize that the big 3 are cheating you all by forcing the phone makers to ignore AWS! It is the future! Look at the facts Wind has the most megga hurts, Wind has the cash and Wind is committed to AWS! Tony says AWS is far getter than LTE!!! so why do it? The answer is you are all fools!

    • Dalex

I don’t get WIND in Montreal. Tell them to expand their coverage or put a sock in it. AWS is crap.

    • CADDMan

Who’s the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him?

  • T1MB1T

Useless unless it is on WIND!

  • TheTigerTek

I’m going to wait out for the 900

  • Dalex

The 900 will be a SGS2 (Same size, same display technology) with lower specs (but thats irrelevant, because WP7 is smooth), but with very good build quality.

The GPU is complete crap, but thats ok, I don’t plan on playing spec taxing games on a smartphone.

Hopefully the camera is better than the 800 and they’ve got themselves a best seller.

@SAM, it’s that very “opinion getting shoved down everyone’s throats” situation that left all of you Android fans all sour in the first place thanks to the iPhone. Not being an overzealous jerk and letting people be happy with something other than Samsung would be a breath of fresh air from you.

  • sod

Too late Telus. Couldn’t wait so I got the Lumia 710…very happy! Will probably use it as a spare (camping etc), and get the 900 or better phone that will be available by Xmas time.

  • felix

K, I am, I guess, an android fanboy, but these new Nokias look amazing and I want one. I love how the wp7 os looks and feels, even thought I know others dont. What ever, I enjoy it, bottom line.

  • Jimbo

Until they include the ability to tether, I’m not going to buy one. Hopefully, Tango will fix this.

    • blackprince

thethering would have to be enabled by Telus themselves. Its the carriers who decide who gets that feature.

    • sod

      What if it’s unlocked?

  • J

Always funny how Android fanboys have to comment on every other phone about how much better Android is. It’s like they’re trying to convince themselves or feel threatened by other phones (which also sadly means they take that final step of fanboyism from zeal to 100% loser).

Nokia Lumia 800 = Awesome phone with an awesome OS.

That’s really all it comes down to. If you disagree, fine, but no need to make all these big long posts about Android being better. We are all human beings that have the brain capacity to understand how opinions work, saying the same old tired comments just makes you look unqualified to carry on a conversation with big kids who live in the real world.

More or less anyways. Can’t wait to get a cyan Lumia!

    • aka

trolls do not count for being android fans..

  • Jer

Isn’t the 900 supposed to be announced soon? Anyways, I like this phone cuz it works on AWS. So glad I ditched the Big 3.

  • montrealer

I think once the general consumer will actually see this phone, they’ll forget what OS it is. Such a gorgeous design.

  • dior monster

android fanboys are the worst and there will never be a shortage of there comments dissing other os’s online because most android users are huge nerds and there on there computers 24/7. Notice how Nokia and Blackberry fans are the quietest? its because they dont have to try and convince other people that there the best cause everyone just knows 😉 anyway… id say the 800 will be around 450-550 which is worth it, such a slick phone.

  • freestaterocker

I’m tied to Bell til mid-2014… Anybody know what TELUS’ policy on unlocking is?

  • Quinn

^ Telus will unlock a phone for $50 after owning the phone for 3 months. However, I’m sure you can buy unlock codes online for much cheaper.
