HTC has been kind enough to add some aging but excellent devices to its bootloader unlock list, including Canadian favourites the Hero and the Legend.
The Hero debuted in 2009 and was the first HTC phone to come with Sense, though it ran in front of Android 1.5. It was a developer’s dream phone, and launched my custom ROM obsession. Though few people are likely still using a Hero (speak up if you are!) it was one of the best devices of its time.
The Legend was the Hero’s successor, and though slightly undersized it was beautifully-made out of a single piece of aluminum. It also stood up to some serious drops when tested it all the way back in June 2010.
Both these devices, along with the Droid Eris, myTouch 3G and myTouch 4G, have been added to the growing list of bootloader-unlockable phones, and it’s great to see HTC fleshing out its commitment to users.
