Even though us Canadian are just now being graced with Android OS 2.2 Froyo… there is talk that the next update after OS 2.3 Gingerbread will be OS 2.4 “Ice Cream”. Previous versions of Android OS have been a succession of letters in the alphabet: Donut (D), Eclair (E), Froyo (F), Gingerbread (G) and Honeycomb (H) with the next being I with “Ice Cream”. The targeted date is rumoured to be set for the June/July time frame and be similar to the Honeycomb experience for tablets but specifically designed for mobile phones.
