Since Apple launched their App Store the phrase “There’s an app for that.” has been repeated and probably copied as many times as apps have been downloaded. You’ve heard it everywhere… TV commercials, radio advertising, print advertising, online. Apple originally submitted a trademark application back on December 4th, 2009 and was just given the official word by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that “There’s an app for that.” is now officially a trademarked saying.
The trademark applies to “retail store services featuring computer software provided via the Internet and other computer and electronic communication networks; retail store services featuring computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics.”
