A new phone scam has been alerted by some TELUS customers apparently receiving calls from a 905-395-XXXX number with this recorded message: “Hello, because you are a valued TELUS customer you will receive 3,000 travel dollars. To accept press 1.”
If you do press 1 you’ll be re-directed to a sales rep claiming they work for TELUS who asks you for your personal info. So don’t press 1 – if you hear it hang up. TELUS states that if you may have given your info by accident then call the police or TELUS’ fraud team at 1-877-567-2062.
