With Microsoft announcing Windows Phone 7 Series a couple days ago there were many questions what will happen to the recently updated Windows Mobile 6.5 (and 6.5.3) devices. Microsoft has stated that they are in fact not completely dropping the OS and will continue to support it by re-branding it as “Windows Phone Classic”.
This will not become official until the official availability of Windows Phone 7 Series later this year. For us Canadians, when it comes to Windows Mobile 6.5 devices we currently have the LG IQ and the Samsung Omnia II. We can also expect to see Bell launch the Samsung OmniaPro 7330 soon.
