Touchscreen devices have been around for some time but was made highly popular by Apple’s iPhone. The touchscreen gives the user a great experience when it comes to using the phone, but how long will it be around for. There eventually has to be a new technology developed.
Tokyo University professors Masatoshi Ishikawa and Dr. Takashi Komuro have developed “vision-based Input Interface” that uses the forward facing camera to capture your movements by your fingers and then translates that into a command… all without touching the screen. The demo video has everything ready and shows it in action with apps, draw and messaging.
It’s pretty cool but if it’s ever implemented it will take some getting used to.
