Quebecor: “Wireless is the future.”

Ever since filing for bancrupcy protection late last year, Quebecor CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau stated that he’s intent on making Quebecor Inc., (which owns Videotron) on making its planned mobile-phone service a key component of its business.

Quebecor Media committet to spending $1 billion over the next 18 months to build its new wireless business. “We’re investing with a medium- and long-term perspective. There is no future for a cable and telecom company that doesn’t invest in its technology. Wireless is the future.”
