Telus wins award for best Annual Report

This could an accountants dream come true!! Unknown to us that there is a survey for the best Annual Reports every year… what is even better is that Telus has walked away with being recognized as one of the best in the world… for the fifth consecutive year!

Telus got a rating of A+ and ranked it the third best in the world across all industries. They were highly regarded for the five key areas of reporting – key figures, financial review, financial clarity, goals and targets and multiple book management. Only 25 Canadian companies made the top 500.

Robert McFarlane, TELUS executive vice-president and chief financial officer said “At a time when investor expectations around governance as well as financial and corporate social responsibility reporting have never been greater, it is truly an honour to be recognized globally in the 2008 Annual Report on Annual Reports. At TELUS, we are firmly committed to full and fair financial disclosure and best practices in corporate governance, so to receive formal acknowledgment of our team’s efforts is truly gratifying.”
