After the numerous leaks, Google and LG officially announced the Nexus 5 today! This, as expected, will be available on Google Play today, then most likely hit Canadian carriers on November 8th.
In addition to Canada, the Nexus 5 will also be available to those in the United States, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and Korea, plus will be launched soon in India.
Specs of the Nexus 5 have it coming with a 4.95-inch 1920×1080 display (445 ppi), a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16-32GB of internal storage, LTE connectivity, 8MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), 1.3MP front-facing camera, 2300mAh battery, runs Android OS 4.4 KitKat and has ‘Ceramic power and volume buttons.’
Available in both black and white, the 16GB Nexus 5 is priced at $349 (CDN) and $399 (CDN) for the 32GB version.
Update – 2:16pm: The 16GB version of the Nexus 5 in Black is sold out. Google notes “We are out of inventory. Please check back soon.”
Update #2 – 2:22pm: Now the 32GB in black is sold out. Also, the white version of the 16GB Nexus is sold out.
Update #3 – 2:27pm: All versions and colours of the Nexus 5 are sold out at Google Play
Update #4 – Google seems to be putting more inventory into the Google Play Canadian store. Make sure you refresh your browser to see if stock is available.
