Telus is emailing customers of its sub-brand, Public Mobile, about a new $40/100GB offer.
Shared with MobileSyrup by a reader, the email tries to lure Public customers to switch to a Telus plan rather than stay with Public. The email includes a section titled “More reasons you’ll love a Telus monthly plan,” which covers trade-in credits, savings on phones, and the ability to add loved ones to a family plan.
Public notes that the offer is available to customers who currently subscribe to eligible plans and currently have pre-authorized bank payments. The email also notes that the monthly discount will apply only to eligible plans, and you must keep the pre-authorized bank payments active to maintain the discount.

Although the deal is limited-time only, there was no deadline listed for when the plan would end; however, I imagine it is pretty short.
Interestingly, Public had a similar promotional plan of similar value late last month: a $45/125GB CAN/US/MEX plan with unlimited talk/text.
Honestly, this plan is actually half-decent if you’re considering switching to Telus. I have been with them for over a decade now and have never had a single issue, though I do know it is pretty pricey compared to other telecom companies like Freedom, which has a $45/125GB plan offered as part of its back-to-school sale.
