TCL has announced the launch of the TCL Note A1 Nxtpaper, which the company says is an intelligent E-Note designed to transform digital reading, writing, and creativity.
Building on the company’s Nxtpaper technology that was introduced in 2021, the E-Note sports an 11.5-inch 120Hz screen with “flicker-free visuals,” TÜV-certified eye comfort, and a reflection-free surface. The display also supports a 16.7-million-colour range and 300 nits of adaptive brightness, which the company states allows users to experience lifelike depth and reduced eye strain across multiple lighting conditions.
The Note A1 features an 8,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. Under the hood, so to speak, is 256GB of storage, 8GB of RAM, and an MTK G100 CPU. Also available are cross-device transfers and cloud sharing via Dropbox, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
In terms of AI features, the Note A1 features handwriting-to-text conversion, real-time transcription, translation, and automated meeting summaries. There are also more handwriting-focused tools like “handwriting beautification,” writing assist, handwriting one-stroke formation, and handwritten formula recognition.
If you need to take meetings on the Note A1, the device also features an eight-microphone array with intelligent noise reduction and directional audio pickup.
The Note A1 also comes with TCL’s T-Pen Pro, which offers 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity, dual-tip functionality, and a latency of under 5 milliseconds. TCL also claims that the device features “Pencil-Like Writing,” which TCL says can replicate the resistance and texture of real paper.
The TCL Note A1 Nxtpaper will be available at the end of Feb. for $549. Early access is currently available on Kickstarter, with early-adopter discounts.
