A neat new sale on Steam shines a spotlight on games made in none other than Vancouver.
In the appropriately named Games From Vancouver promotion, you can save up to 90 per cent on a variety of titles that were made in the Greater Vancouver area. The sale was organized by local developer BlackBird Interactive, which has worked on the likes of the Homeworld series, Minecraft Legends and the just-released Ambrosia Sky with Toronto-based Soft Rains.
From November 21 to 30, you can save on Vancouver-made games like:
- Art of Rally (Funskeletor Labs Inc.) — $16.25 (regularly $32.50).
- Company of Heroes 3 (Relic Entertainment) — $30.79 (regularly $76.99).
- EA Sports FC 26 (EA Canada) — $44.99 (regularly $89.99).
- Fresh Tracks (Buffalo Buffalo) — $22.39 (regularly $27.99).
- Gears of War: Reloaded (The Coalition) — $32.49 (regularly $49.99).
- Homeworld 3 (Blackbird Interactive) — $39.99 (regularly $79.99).
- Ikenfell (Happy Ray Games) — $6.83 (regularly $22.79).
- The Long Dark (Hinterland Studio) — $12.99 (regularly $24.99).
- Peglin Red Nexus Games) — $17.49 ($24.99).
- Pistol Whip (Cloudhead Games) — $19.49 (regularly $29.99).
- Squad (Offworld) — $35.99 (regularly $89.99).
- Wanderstop (Ivy Road) — $19.49 (regularly $32.49).
The promotion also spotlights other Vancouver-made games that aren’t on sale, like Sunset Visitor’s award-winning 1000xResist, Wishes Ultd.’s Beastie Ball, Brace Yourself Games’ Rift of the Necrodancer and Northway Games’ I Was A Teenage Exocolonist.

It’s worth noting that the sale coincides with the Vancouver Game Expo on November 29, an all-ages exhibition featuring more than 100 games made in the Vancouver area. Tickets are available to the public starting at $6.64.
