Uber dishes secrets about user habits in the 2024 Cravings Report

Extra spicy.

If you’ve ever wanted an inside look at all of the weird stuff people order on Uber Eats, we’ve got you covered. Uber recently shared its Cravings Report for 2024 and there are some rather surprising discoveries.

Most ordered condiments

Let’s start with the most spicy pick of them all, the most ordered sauces. According to Uber, the most common condiment that users order is creamy garlic sauce, beating out hot sauce and spicy mayo in the second and third spots. And to me, this makes sense. If you’re in a restaurant, you have to worry about your breath after a meal. But at home? Bring on the garlic.

  1. Creamy garlic sauce
  2. Hot sauce
  3. Spicy mayo
  4. Ranch
  5. Soy Sauce

Most common order requests

However, the report also shows that the most common order request is to remove onions. It’s probably just a taste thing, but at least some nights, the bad breath is kept at bay. That beats out removing tomatoes in second place and adding spice in third.

  1. No onions
  2. No tomatoes
  3. Spicy
  4. Extra Sauce
  5. No pickle

Non-food items

Possibly the most interesting category in the report is the non-food items category. For those who don’t know, Uber allows you to order groceries through the app, so you’re able to add items such as shampoo if you need them. Unsurprisingly, the most popular non-food item is… toilet paper. Look, sometimes you know you have about 30 minutes until that creamy carbonara hits and Uber is the fastest way to ensure you’re covered.  Toilet paper is followed up by paper towel, all-purpose household cleaner, and dishwashing liquid. Interestingly, Plan B came in at ninth place, beating out aluminum foil!

  1. Toilet Paper
  2. Paper Towels
  3. All Purpose house cleaner
  4. Dishwashing liquid
  5. Toothpaste
  6. Detergent
  7. Cat food
  8. Baby Wipes
  9. Plan B
  10. Aluminum Foil

Pickiest cities

Now, I’m not sure how they measure this, but Uber reports that they have found the pickiest and most polite cities in Canada. According to the report, Swift Current, Saskatchewan is the most picky city in Canada. They are followed by Thompson, Manitoba, and Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. The prairies must really like their sandwiches on plain white bread.

  1. Swift Current, SK
  2. Thompson, MB
  3. Lloydminster, SK
  4. Bathurst NB
  5. New Glasgow, NS
  6. Cornwall, ON
  7. Williams Lake, BC
  8. Grande Prairie, AB
  9. Moose Jaw, SK
  10. Prince George, BC

Most polite cities

When it comes to being polite, Uber reports that Kingston, Ontario is the top ranked city.  Kingston is followed by Peterborough, Ontario and Canada’s capital, Ottawa. It might be expensive, but it turns out that Ontario is very polite!

  1. Kingston, ON
  2. Peterborough, ON
  3. Ottawa, ON
  4. Red Deer, AB
  5. Swift Current, SK
  6. Kamloops, BC
  7. Cobourg, ON
  8. Nanaimo, BC
  9. Kincardine, ON
  10. Hamilton, ON

Other interesting finds include the most ordered groceries (bananas), the most popular alcohol (vodka), and the most popular cuisine (Indian). We’ll have to wait until next year to find out where Plan B lands on the charts.
