Gemini is finally making its way to Google Home products

Unfortunately, a lot of these features are U.S. only

Gemini is finally appearing in Google Home products. Most of these features will be available only in the U.S. but stay tuned as they will likely expand to Canada.

Google announced AI Camera Search when it launched the Pixel 9 series, but the feature was still in development. AI Camera Search lets users ask simple questions like “Did the kids play in the backyard?” or “What knocked over the garbage cans?” AI can interpret the questions, scan the footage, and show results or reply. AI descriptions are also a new feature, letting users pull specific camera functionalities.

Nest Aware Plus customers can opt-in to test out these features, but again, it’s only available to English-speaking users in the U.S.

Google is also introducing a new feature called “Help Me Create,” powered by Gemini, which will soon be added to the Google Home app. The feature will let you describe what you want using natural language. For instance, you can type things like “Remember to lock up at night” or “make it seem like someone is home” for security reasons. You can also say things like “announce dinner time.”

These automations may use a variety of Home products, such as lights, Nest cameras, Nest Thermostats, and more. For instance, you can type something like: “When someone says, ‘Hey Google, Happy Holidays, ‘ holiday music can turn on the speakers, and the lights can change colours.

Similar to the AI Camera Search feature, this is only available to English-speaking US users who subscribe to Nest Aware Plus.

Gemini is finally getting a Google Home extension, which is available now in the Gemini app for users who opted into the Public Preview. You can also control the Nest Cam and Doorbell from the Google Home app on your Pixel Watch.

Pixel Tablet also has a digital or analogue clock screensaver, which is available globally, even while the table is idle or charging.

Google TV now has the Home panel, which lets you manage your home from your TV. With Gemini technology, Google TV is also getting enhanced overviews of TV shows or movies.

There’s so much more coming to the Google Home app; you can check it out here.
