Videotron’s Fizz brand announced expanded service in five provinces, with over 2 million Canadians gaining access.

Fizz’s expansion brings new service areas to Whistler and Kelowna in B.C., Lethbridge and Red Deer in Alberta, and Portage and La Prairie in Manitoba. In Quebec, new service areas include Gaspésie, Côte-Nord and Bas-Saint-Laurent. Fizz didn’t list any specific areas in Ontario, simply saying it expanded its service area in the province.

Fizz said the latest expansion was made possible thanks to partnerships signed under the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s (CRTC) Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) regime.

The expansion is the latest in a recent series of expansions from Fizz, which included launching in Manitoba, Ontario and western Canada.

Fizz also recently started offering discounts on its monthly plans for customers who purchase a phone from it.
