Following five separate cases of Note 7 units catching on fire in the U.S. and a new global recall, Samsung has started sending American Note 7 owners a special recovery package to use when returning their device.
The entire package, obtained by XDA Developers team, includes four separate containers to encase the Note 7 and its highly flammable battery, as well as a pair safety gloves to accommodate consumers who might be allergic to one of the box’s ceramic fiber paper lining. The company also specifies the device should be returned via a ground transport option, not an airplane.
“Saftey is always our highest priority. We realize that we did not meet the standards of excellence that you expect and deserve with the Note7. For that, we sincerely apologize,” says Samsung in the note that accompanies the recovery package.
