Google has updated its Android M Developer Preview for the first time since it was released in late May.

Initially announced during Google I/O, Android M is the next version of the world’s most popular operating system, expected to be made publicly available in October or November.

Of the new build, Google says, “Android M Developer Preview 2 is an incremental update to the Android M preview platform that was originally released in May 2015. The update includes a variety of enhancements and bug fixes made across the system, including those related to issues reported by developers through the external issue tracker.”

The update is only available as an over-the-air download on top of the original Developer Preview, which is available on the Nexus 5, 6, 9 and Player. It will begin rolling out today, and will take a few days to propagate to everyone.

Google promises another preview release in late July or early August. According to the company’s developer portal, the second preview was supposed to roll out at the end of June.

Google has yet to reveal the name it will use for Android M, but keeping with the dessert theme it should be called Mascarpone. Right?
