WIND Mobile has unveiled a new plan that could possibly assist the carrier in getting closer to its goal of one million subscribers.
The $39 month plan is available now and while it forgoes the $10 monthly service credit that made its previous holiday promo popular, it does include unlimited 3G data in both Canada and the United States. This is progress as there are no other Canadian carriers offering unlimited US data roaming. Rogers is charging $5 per day with its “Roam Like Home” add-on, but it uses up the minutes/text/data from the monthly Share Everything plan. On the other hand, WIND’s new plan is limited to 3G speeds, whereas Roam Like Home connects at LTE speeds in areas that support it.
The plan is available until March 31st and also has unlimited Canada-wide calling, unlimited Canada-wide texting and picture messaging. The plan opts out of unlimited calling in the States, but does give 2,400 minutes of talk time.
The fine print also notes that the “WIND 39 plan is eligible for Better Together Savings,” which is up to $150, and that the “WIND 39 plan may not be combined with the Bring/Buy Your Own Phone offer.”
