BlackBerry has made its cross-platform productivity tool, Blend, available for download. Coming today for iOS (iOS 7+) and Android tablets (Android 4.4+), Blend brings real-time content from a BlackBerry 10.3-based handset like the Passport or Porsche Design P’9983 to other devices.
For example, once paired Blend displays emails, texts, BBMs, real-time contact and calendar information and more in a single place.
It’s also the only way many BlackBerry users can work with secure emails, calendars and files on a larger screen. The connection is private and encrypted and allows the transfer of files between the various operating systems. Anything sent or updated on Android, iOS, Windows or Mac is automatically pushed out to the smartphone as well.
Blend’s basic features are free, but BlackBerry will introduce enterprise-specific premium subscriptions in the coming months.
