Twitter has added a cool new feature to its iOS app: translation services, powered by Microsoft’s Bing platform.
The app now detects a Tweet posted in another language from the default and prompts users to translate it in one click. You can see that, while the context is there, the wording choices are not always accurate, but that is to be expected from a relatively new product.
Twitter originally partnered with Microsoft to add Bing Translate to its Windows Phone app, but rolling it out to iOS and the web results in far bigger exposure for the burgeoning service. Apple also featured Bing Translate in its WWDC keynote as an example of its Extensions framework.
