BlackBerry is hosting a contest this month, aptly titled BBM2Win, encouraging users to share BBM on various social networks in exchange for a chance to win. According to the contest rules, “the more [you] share, the better [your] chances of winning.”
If you’re into that sort of thing, and are willing to post to your feed for the opportunity to win a $4,500 “Best Weekend EVER with BBM” grand prize, head to the contest page for more details. There are also tickets to the 2014 Winter Classic between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings on January 1st, various tickets to other sporting events, and weekly prizes for sporting apparel, movie tickets and various others goodies.
Though BlackBerry has not given out any recent numbers, the uptake for BBM after its release on iOS and Android was significant, and the company has resurfaced as a contender in the saturated instant messaging market. Over 20 million new users were added to the BBM database in October, and those numbers should still be gaining, though at a less rapid pace.
