The Nexus 7 tablet is coming to Canada really soon, and we really liked it. But one thing we didn’t know about until recently was that it has its own magnetic smart cover-like feature. Case manufacturers can install specially-placed magnets to wake and sleep the tablet, just like the iPad, when closing the cover.
We’re not sure if this will raise the ire of Cupertino — Apple has been known to sue for less — but perhaps that’s why it hasn’t been advertised. Nevertheless it’s a neat trick that we hope case makers will take advantage of, officially or not, in the coming months.
