Earlier reports suggested that the Pebble Blue version of the Galaxy SIII would not be available on launch day. Today, with the launch of the Galaxy S III in 28 counties, Samsung has confirmed that the colour will be experiencing a short delay.
Samsung officially stated that the “Samsung’s Galaxy SIII Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material. In order to meet the highest internal quality standards and to provide the best quality Galaxy SIII to customers, a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks. Samsung is working hard to ensure that customers will get the Pebble Blue coloured devices as soon as possible.”
The “Pearl White” version of the Galaxy S III is fully available, but this certainly brings back memories from when Apple had similar manufacturing complication of the white iPhone 4S. The good news for us Canadians is that Samsung notes that the “newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material” is expected to be available within 2-3 weeks, so it shouldn’t impact the upcoming Canadian release.
