Even though Apple will once again have the entire tech world watching them announce the iPad 2 today… one Apple employee apparently stated that “For the iPad 2 don’t get your hopes up too high. That’s all I’m going to say. They’ve had a number of problems along the way, and the third-generation iPad is the one to make a song and a dance about.”
The second generation of the iPad is expected to have a front-facing camera, better display and thinner… but regardless of specs overseas reports from DigiTimes reveal expected shipping numbers. The article states that: “Apple internally plans to take deliveries of 6-6.5 million iPads, including iPad 2, in the first quarter of 2011 and aims at a total shipment volume of 40 million iPads for 2011, according to sources from the supply chain. 300,000-400,000 units of iPad 2 will be turned out in the initial batch, the sources pointed out.”
Will you be purchasing one of the 40 million iPads in 2011… or opting for a BlackBerry, webOS or Android-powered tablet?
