YotaPhone2, the sequel to the Russian company’s original YotaPhone, will be unveiled on December 3rd at an invite-only presentation in London.
In August, Yota Devices announced that it was considering moving its headquarters to Canada, and would begin distributing its two-sided smartphone within North America. The announcement came after a surplus of engineering talent became available in Waterloo and Toronto after BlackBerry’s restructuring program left 5,000 people without jobs.
An ordinary Android smartphone on the front, the YotaPhone features a touchscreen-friendly e-ink display on the back, which the company says provides an ideal compromise between readability and battery life.
Since then, we haven’t heard much from the organization, but YotaPhone2, which features a set of modern specs and an updated rounded design, is set to be unveiled in full on December 3rd. It’s unclear whether the company still plans to distribute the smartphone in North America.
