All the new AirPods announcements from the fall Apple event

Apple has refreshed three of the AirPods models with new ANC and more

At Apple’s fall event, the company showed off a huge slate of new AirPods, including updated AirPods Max,

AirPods 4

The new AirPods 4 have a slightly refined shape that Apple says will fit better in even more ears. It also uses the H2 chip and a new acoustic architecture which Apple says sounds even better than 2021’s AirPods 3.

The company has used machine learning to improve the mics on the earbuds, and with the new updates, you can also shake your head yes or no to answer or hang up on calls. Apple also says that there is new tech inside to cancel out background noise when you’re on a call to make it easier for people to hear you.

Plus, these buds have a USB-C charging port on the case, but no wireless charging.

AirPods 4 with ANC

These AirPods look the same as the AirPods 4, but they offer active noise cancellation to help block out background noises. Like AirPods Pros, these also have transparency mode and Adaptive Audio, which helps adjust the ANC and makes it easier to use them while out and about.

These units also have conversation mode to make it easy to chat with people when wearing AirPods with ANC enabled. The case for this model also has a speaker, making it easier to find them when they’re lost using the Find My app.

To charge these models, you can use wireless charging, an Apple Watch charger or the USB-C port.

The new AirPods Max have new colours and a USB-C port.

AirPods Pro

Apple has focused on bringing new health features to AirPods Pro 2 (the older model from last year). You can now use AirP0ds when going to a concert since they can block out really loud sounds but let the sounds you want to hear into your ears at a safe volume.

On top of that, you can also use AirPods Pros to do a new hearing test to better understand your ears and how they stack up against the average. Apple says this also allows for a clinical-grade hearing aid feature to help people use AirPods when they need to hear more of the world around them. This hearing profile is also applied to the headphones when listening to music and other audio to help people always hear what’s going on.
