FreshBooks makes its iOS app more secure by adding Touch ID and Passcode support

Toronto-based FreshBooks today announced the addition of Touch ID and Passcode support for its iOS app.

Touch ID is available on the iPhone 5S and higher, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini. Using this feature, FreshBooks users can use their fingerprint to secure access to their account, so that “little Timmy can’t accidentally send invoices between games of Angry Birds”. Good stuff.

Passcode support is available on all the iOS devices that the app supports.

The company says it worked with Apple to implement these features.

“Service-based small business owners — people who get paid for their time and expertise — are the future of the economy, and their unique needs are incredibly underserved,” said Mike McDerment, the company’s CEO and co-founder, in a press release. “Much of their time is devoted to tracking their hours, generating accurate invoices, and trying to stay on top of their cash flow. By teaming up with Apple and its market-leading mobile platform, FreshBooks is delivering on our commitment to make running a business easy and efficient.”

The FresBooks iOS app can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store. Those that haven’t used FreshBooks can try the service out free for 30 days by visiting the company’s website.
