We’re well into the second half of September and with Android L is looming, we’re looking forward to the possibility of a couple of new Nexus devices to help us end the year on the right note. There’s been talk of a Nexus X (or Nexus 6) for quite a while, and rumours about a Nexus 9 tablet are heating up, too.
According to the latest scuttlebutt, the new Nexus tablet will arrive exactly four weeks from today. MoDaCo founder Paul O’Brien today tweeted about an anonymous tip he had received that said the HTC Nexus 9 would launch on October 16th. This lines up with previous rumours that have suggested a Q4 or fall update, as well as Google’s own Nexus refresh cycle, which usually sees the company debut new hardware alongside a new version of Android in October.
Last we heard, the Nexus 9 was being made by HTC and would be based on Nvidia’s Tegra K1 chip. The Nexus 9 is thought to pack an 8.9-inch display, with a 2048×1440 resolution, 2 GB of RAM, up to 32 GB of storage, and an 8MP camera with OIS.
