Bell announced its Q3 2013 results this morning and reported that wireless revenue increased 4.1% to almost $1.5 billion. The jump in revenue was attributed to strong “postpaid subscriber growth and higher blended ARPU.” Data revenue increased a whopping 18.4%, which Bell attributes to its subscribers using the web and its Mobile TV service.
Bell now has 7,805,100 wireless subs, up 3.0%, with the majority being postpaid customers (6,683,646). In addition, 73% of total postpaid subscribers now use a smartphone, up from 60% a year ago. Blended ARPU (voice, text, data) increased by 1.7% to $58.30/month and represents “the fifteenth consecutive quarter of year-over-year improvement.”
Bell also noted that their LTE network is “Canada’s largest” and covers 77% of the Canadian population.
