Three months ago Reuters published a story that indicated Apple was toying with the idea of a future iPhones possibly coming with a display of 4.7-inches and 5.7-inches. The “people with knowledge of the matter” stated that “they constantly change product specifications almost to the final moment, so you’re not really sure whether this is the final prototype.”
It’s inevitable that Apple is working on new iPhone models and probably testing many sizes. The Wall Street Journal is jumping on board the Apple phablet train and declared their “people familiar with the matter” claim Apple is “evaluating a plan to offer iPhones with screens ranging from 4.8 inches to as high as 6 inches.” Apparently Apple has taken a keen interest in the 4.8-inch display, but the WSJ gently reminds us that “the company often tests different devices and configurations before choosing a course.”
In the meantime, Apple is poised to unveil a low-cost iPhone 5C and the next generation iPhone 5S with a 4-inch display on Tuesday, September 10th.
