As we get closer to the October/November release of Ice Cream Sandwich it is becoming more and more apparent that Samsung’s Nexus Prime, the third in the pure Android Nexus series, is going to be the first phone released with Android 4.0.
From a leaked .xml document on Samsung Mobile’s website, we can infer a few things about the Prime, denoted by the I9250 model number. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy S was the I9000 and the Galaxy S II the I9100. The device will have a 480×800 pixel display, and not a 720p display that was previously thought (that would be the Galaxy Note announced at IFA), but very little other information is known at this time.
As the lead-up to the holiday season comes, we are all waiting impatiently for the major hardware and software manufacturers to showcase their wares. The Nexus Prime is certainly up there with the iPhone 5 in terms of anticipation and we’ll keep you updated once all the details unfold.
Update: New rumours have the Nexus Prime being renamed to the Samsung “Galaxy Nexus”.
