With the exception of Kingston, North Bay, Ottawa, Sault Saint Ste. Marie, Sudbury and Thunder Bay, Telus VoLTE calling is available throughout Ontario. Previously it was only available in Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba.

Telus subscribers in Ontario can take advantage of the next-generation calling feature as long as they have a post-paid plan with the carrier, as well as a compatible device and LTE SIM.

At the time of writing, the list of devices that support VoLTE over the company’s network include the Alcatel GO FLIP, iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone SE, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus. iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, (2017) Galaxy A5, LG X Power, G4, G5 and G6.

Telus launched VoLTE calling back in April 2016. Besides improved call quality, the technology helps to speed up how quickly calls connect.
