Someone fixed the Switch’s Joy-con connectivity issue by opening up the controller and soldering it

If you’re experiencing issues with the Nintendo Switch’s left Joy-con, never fear, all you need to do is crack open the controller and get out a soldering gun.

Of course we here at MobileSyrup don’t actually recommend you do this, but a mechanically-inclined individual much smarter than myself has come up with a solution to the Joy-con’s signal problems by doing exactly that.

Spawn Wave’s YouTube channel popped open the Joy-con and played around with its insides, coming to the conclusion that the right controller has an independent antenna, while the left Joy-con’s antenna is built directly into the controller’s main circuit board, where it is apparently is obstructed by a large metal box.

The solution to this issue is to solder a new wire running along the inside of the controller’s casing, which improves the Joy-con’s wireless signal, leading to a range of almost 40 feet.

It’s worth noting that doing this voids the Nintendo Switch’s warranty and also will likely result in you destroying the Joy-con, unless you’re familiar with electronics and video game system hardware mods.

Of course, you could also just remove every wireless device from your home, because that will likely solve the problem as well.
