Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Seamless aims to mimic Apple’s Universal Control for Android, Windows

Qualcomm says Seamless will help mice, keyboards, earbuds and more work across PCs, phones and tablets.

At Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, the company announced Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon Seamless.

X Elite is a custom-integrated Qualcomm Oryon CPU, which delivers two times faster CPU performance versus the competition, according to Qualcomm. The X Elite offers 136GB per second memory bandwidth on a 4nm process. Further, it also offers lightning-fast 5G and Wi-Fi 7.

Snapdragon Seamless is a cross-platform technology that enables linking across different operating systems while sharing peripherals and data. Seamless is set to work with products from Microsoft and Android, including brands like Asus, Honor, Lenovo, Oppo and more.

Qualcomm says that Seamless can help customers feel like they are no longer stuck with one manufacturer since devices and peripherals from multiple companies and brands can work together.

Some examples are mice and keyboards seamlessly working across PCs, phones and tablets, earbuds that can switch based on the priority of an audio source (like Apple AirPods) and mixed reality (XR ) that can extend the abilities of smartphones.

Seamless works with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Snapdragon X Elite and wearable and hearable platforms. Qualcomm says we’ll start seeing Seamless for global device platforms starting as early as this year.
